Fall 2017  // Oregon State University // GD 326

This project’s goal was to design promotional materials for a fictional TEDx event.

The event I imagined was called Heart. It hosted talks and discussions that explored compassion and how we as humans interact with it in the modern world. While planning this event I hoped that attendees of this event would learn how to connected to others at deeper and more meaningful level. The target audience of Heart was those of with some college to college educated professionals.

Fictional speakers and their talks included:
  • Joan Halifax: Compassion and the true meaning of empathy
  • Kirsta Tippett: Reconnecting with Compassion
  • Chade Meng Tan: Everyday Compassion at Google
  • Pope Francis: Why the Only Future Worth building Includes Everyone
  • His Holiness the Karampa: Technology of the Heart

OBJECTIVES:
  • Design a unique and recognizable word mark.
  • Create a style guide for the event including, logo use, color palette, typography, photography or illustrations, and other graphic elements.
  • Implement the style guide through design of a poster and post cards.
  • Create a booklet to be used at the event that engages readers and follows the established style guide.
